Abstract
The main problem for pineapple (Ananas comosus L.) production in Sánchez Ramírez, Dominican Republic, is the high levels of applications of agrochemicals to improve the crop, increase productivity and control pests and diseases. The presence of pesticide residues in pineapple fruits is a matter of national interest, because it is a highly demanded product in the market. The accumulation of residues in pineapple demand more attention, since most of these fruits are consumed as fresh fruit and there is no information related to the presence or absence of pesticide residues in them. The study objective was to determine the effect of six management treatments of the pineapple plantation with and without application of growth hormone (Agrokin Plus®) on the presence of molecules and concentrations of carbamates and organophosphates. It was carried out on the farm of a producer from Las Cuevas, Cotuí, Sánchez Ramírez Province, Dominican Republic. A completely randomized design was used, with six treatments (Agrokin Plus® hormone at doses 0, 250, 400, 600, 800, and 1,000 mL ha-1 + agrochemical management for each treatment (T1, T2, T3, T4, T5 and T6, respectively) and four replications. The presence of pesticides was determined by the extraction of organophosphates and carbamates through the bioassay process. The data were analyzed with the InfoStat (2018) program, using the Kruskal Wallis test at 5%. The applied treatments significantly affected the pineapple fruit content of carbamates with a p (0.0202)<(alpha=0.05), but did not affect the organophosphate content with a value of p (0.0618)>(alpha=0.05). The results suggest the need to continue the monitoring processes for pesticide residues in pineapple fruits with an emphasis on maintaining the market and avoiding sanctions for exports.
